In a unexpected partnership that breaks usual expectations, the game developer has unveiled an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Revealed

According to the official announcement, "An unusual meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where whispers of banned practices and fearsome transformations resonate through the darkness." The plot presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine sect.

The mission centers on "peculiar trials and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses

The trailer highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Rewards and Extra Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an exclusive katana alongside several artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Unique weapons
• Survey Corps vehicle

Newest Free Story Addition

This release also brings the game's latest complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
